Merry Christmas from Hong Kong

Merry Christmas to you all from Hong Kong.  We had a lovely day here where we ate and drank WAY too much..... what is new ?  I always try and prepare as much food as possible, in the hope that I can escape the kitchedn for a couple of days - and this time I have been successful.  Lots of ham, chicken, pork and veggies ready to make 'new concoctions' in the next couple of days.

The boys were up fairly early but the biggest kid of the lot (me.....) was also up at the same time ready for the day to begin.  Luckily, Santa found us in our new home and country - we've had lots of questions about whether Santa is actually real, but after many long discussions, for now, we are still believers.

After all the presents were opened and all the lunch items were happily cooking away, we enjoyed a day playing with new toys and singing Christmas carols.  The many phones calls and messages from home and afar, made us feel closer to loved ones.  How fabulous is it to have social media and technology to bring us closer together on these special days ?

As always, there were lots of sporting items under the tree, which resulted in some backyard cricket, soccer games, basketball competitions, and even some badminton!  Boxing Day was no different, with it being more of the same, along with the Boxing Day Test Match on TV, and the Sydney to Hobart Yacht race available for us to see.

When it comes to doing things, I got to try out my new running shoes with a nice run this morning, and hope with my foot being a bit better, that running can be a continuing outing in the New Year.

We hope you all had a lovely time together with friends and family. x
