Another long weekend in Hong Kong last week gave us the opportunity to visit Macau. Macau is probably the closest thing to a domestic holiday that we can get living in HK. Even though it isn't domestic, it certainly feels like it - more so then Shenzhen.
The jetcat trip is under an hour and the immigration process is so quick and easy that it makes for a very stress free journey. I even managed to pop in to the supermarket at the Ferry terminal to stock up on snacks and a bottle of wine for the trip 😊😊 That certainly makes for an enjoyable Friday afternoon journey.
We stayed at the Venetian in Macau which is a beautiful hotel with lots to see and do. The grand canal meanders through the shopping centre and you can go on a gondola ride and be serenaded by an 'Italian' gondolier. The boys loved doing this and chatted away to the gondolier as we were photographed by the many Chinese tourists.
I had booked tickets to go and see 'The House of Dancing Water' which is a show that runs at the City of Dreams hotel. We didn't know anything about the show but I had been told by a few expats that the show was 'well' worth seeing. Oh and it did NOT disappoint - a definite must do if you ever make it to Macau. The show is about two different worlds and how love can conquer all. How ever that sounds, the show is AMAZING !! There are acrobats, dancing, water stunts, motorbikes, jokers !!! It was brilliant - and even my 3 boys loved it !
We played a couple of rounds of putt putt golf - and the best player won....... just saying!! The course surface was not fabulous but it suited one of us :)
We had a lovely weekend and will enjoy another 'domestic' trip there again soon.
