A little time alone.....

I recently had the opportunity to discover another hiking trail on the Island and spend some quality time on my own.  It was nice after all the recent rain and cold weather to spend some time outdoors and enjoy some new scenery but without getting wet.

There was a 50km race along the same hiking trail, so I had to change paths to avoid getting the 'running' bug and joining them - no, seriously, so as not to get in their way.

The Hike started at the top of the Tai Tam Reservoir Road which is just behind the Hong Kong Cricket club where our boys have cricket on a Saturday morning.  So, I left them to it with their dad and I headed off into the wilderness.  The trail took me along the ridge near some old Ammunition storage bunkers and then down overlooking Jardines Lookout.

The path was very well maintained and was incredibly quiet for a Saturday morning.  It was lovely to overlook the city and enjoy the blue skies.  I am still surprised at how quickly a place like Hong Kong goes from skyscrapers, traffic and crowds, to the peace and quiet of the forest.

I was overlooking the boys playing cricket

there are even little houses along the path - imagine bringing the groceries home !!

and when I got back, Jack had won the player of the month in his squad :)
