Summer barbeques in Australia are amazing but one thing is even better, a barbecue on a beautiful winters' day. No flies, not too sweaty, and not too hot for a game of cricket..... it's just beautiful !
Today we visited our good friends on the other side of Canungra, and had a lovely lunch by the river while the kids played football on the polo field. Then, after lunch the backyard cricket game got serious. There was some fabulous technique on display, and none more so, then Mum's hat trick !! Great fun and I think she is hoping for an Ashes call up.
The boys have been desperate to ride a horse while we have been home and today there was the opportunity to ride little Willow's pony 'Bojangles'. Jack looks ridiculously large on him but he had a great time and is already asking for a return visit. 'Jangles' even put in a little buck and Jack handled it well - even thinks he's now a 'bucking bronc' rider.
Days like today make me realise all the great things we miss while living overseas. Australia is seriously beautiful, the air and water is super clean, the food is amazing, the freedom to do so many wonderful things, friends and family are always there for us and the weather is sensational. Australia really is the lucky country.
